Now drops the salient shadow
On the way to home
You walk the brick road;
See the meadow
Breathe the dust of ancient tome
The fog it follows
Like a canine, it
Dogs your footsteps
Swallows your sorrow
Fills in the gaps in time for the morrow
The air stabs sharply
Comes out in a gust
Your feet crunch the gravel
Flattens grass as you travel
Heart fit to burst with all that you must
To hurry on track
You bite your tongue
But still stop to marvel
At the folly of the young
And in the darkness of the dark you trust
When you trip over roots
While blinded by light
Startled by eager bark
Some times the day is bright
But at least the night is always dark

Water
Clear and gleaming
The droplets gather
As if dreaming
Light as feather
A trickle, a puddle
A lake, a sea
A starting line
Of life to be
Currents stream
Fishes jump
Raindrops fall
On greenest thumb
Water flowing
In cavern found
As if glowing
Of secrets bound
The droplets gather
As if dreaming
Light as feather
A trickle, a puddle
A lake, a sea
A starting line
Of life to be
Currents stream
Fishes jump
Raindrops fall
On greenest thumb
Water flowing
In cavern found
As if glowing
Of secrets bound

Home
Father, I am gone today
Did you miss me while I was home?
The fairest doe led me away
Before so much was borne
All the hills have eyes, she said
The swaying trees have ears
Trust in me, and no one else
Or it shall end in tears
After years of dust and spider's silk
Dark streaks flicker, shadows linger
The raven's call, the dragon's whimper
Echo in the forest ground
Shifting in the gathered leaves
Betwixt the branches yew
The moon rose bright; I watched, and sighed
And heard the howling wolf
And wondered what it was to try
And meet a friend or foe
That more than once had trotted from here,
And slighted the darkest doe
Did you miss me while I was home?
The fairest doe led me away
Before so much was borne
All the hills have eyes, she said
The swaying trees have ears
Trust in me, and no one else
Or it shall end in tears
After years of dust and spider's silk
Dark streaks flicker, shadows linger
The raven's call, the dragon's whimper
Echo in the forest ground
Shifting in the gathered leaves
Betwixt the branches yew
The moon rose bright; I watched, and sighed
And heard the howling wolf
And wondered what it was to try
And meet a friend or foe
That more than once had trotted from here,
And slighted the darkest doe

Time
Once upon a merry time
They walked through flowering fields
There was time to sniff the roses
What was planted was what yield
They sang and laughed and danced together
And thought it would last forever
One lone man said "Time is here!"
But it was a vain endeavor
Then there came a sunny time
And the shadows were chased away
The delicate flowers withered
And the sheep began to stray
But they revelled in the warmth of day
Though the man continued to say,
"Time is moving, change is here!"
But the people did not hear
Then there came a colder time
And once green leaves were falling
Soon the kindred sprites were hiding
While rowdy kids went romping
They simply enjoyed the soothing air
As the lone man gathered wood
It could get colder or it could get warmer
Time was fickle, but foresight was good
Then there came a freezing time
When breaths froze in their throats
They put on all that was in their closets
And pulled on all their coats
They burnt their chairs and burnt their books
But still they starved in the cold
The lone man sighed and laughed and cried
Once upon a time of old
They walked through flowering fields
There was time to sniff the roses
What was planted was what yield
They sang and laughed and danced together
And thought it would last forever
One lone man said "Time is here!"
But it was a vain endeavor

Friends
Hand in hand we walk to the end
Back to where it all began
Side by side we join the fight
Hold on tight till dawn comes bright
A life to live
And time to spend
A dream to achieve
And share with a friend
A new beginning
A means to an end
A bridge over waters
A rift to mend.

Ball
Falling curls and
Wintry gloss
Slippers on and
Fingers crossed
Skirt of satin
Leaves in pattern
Fountain filled
Bed of roses
Fine design
Sunlight dozes
Moonlight shines
Dance with spirit
Smile with care
Live the life
But if you dare

Pretend
I pretend I will start anew today
I pretend I am more than I am
Dreaming of Fae
Come take me away
In wake of dying intent
I pretend I believe in faerie tales
I pretend I believe in gods
World within worlds
Within worlds within worlds
In seas of forgotten thoughts
I pretend my guardians are not perfect
I pretend my life is misery
Living a story
Time to wake up
Waiting for someone to see
I pretend I am strange but unique
I pretend I am cool and aloof
Mimic them
In my imagination
Following the dream
I pretend what I pretend will come true
I pretend it's my life I am shaping
My faerie tale
Spinning to life
I guess I'm too good at pretending
I pretend I am more than I am
Dreaming of Fae
Come take me away
In wake of dying intent
I pretend I believe in faerie tales
I pretend I believe in gods
World within worlds
Within worlds within worlds
In seas of forgotten thoughts
I pretend my guardians are not perfect
I pretend my life is misery
Living a story
Time to wake up
Waiting for someone to see
I pretend I am strange but unique
I pretend I am cool and aloof
Mimic them
In my imagination
Following the dream
I pretend what I pretend will come true
I pretend it's my life I am shaping
My faerie tale
Spinning to life
I guess I'm too good at pretending
