Deidre's Song - The Spider

The spider walked on fraying thread
(Against a harsh and trying wind)
Still shedding shreds of ruin
(First love unto a sin)
The currents batter and betray
(Burst of flame beside him singing)
Still righteous faith bade him to stay
(Still wounds of heart remain unhealed)

Dust

The dust it
Corrupts the sunlight
Disrupts the reel light
Obstructs the view of
Freedom past the window

Deidre's Song - The Childe

The childe sought the wintry night
By the pool of streaming light
Saw naught but peace that it provides
Felt not the cold's first frosty bite

I flinch not from the darkest sight
Nor from swift and icy winds
My steps are sure, my wings are grown
Mother Maeve come take me home

I await the wintry nights
Through the summer and the spring
Until the day for which was made
This dance to welcome mother Maeve

Deidre's Song - The Mangrove

The dreams are hollow and filled with sand
(On the edge of a cliff and a rugged precipice)
Castles built by foreign hand
(Stock still as the porcelain beside the prone widow)
Make me a mangrove that I may demand
(As tides rise and fall washing away)
My roots to grip the salty sand
(Elaborate pillars of salt and sand)

Doll

Painted on the marble stretch
Macabre red on heated stone
Lilting laugh at nothing latched
To nimble fingers laced with flax

They clambered up the too-high steps
By mirrors' light on plaster splashed
Opened the little door to fetch
The button eyes and needle thread

They'll bring a toy for little girls
To perfect dollhouse woven
To place within a room once loved
For newest soul beholden

Can you guess what movie this is from?

Bluebell Lights

How strange, the sky is falling
My darlings, don't be mad-
I knew; it was just simply galling
The way they looked past
At the Blue with no regret

The Green it seemed were stalling
To watch, to grasp their grubby minds
On the things they're sure to tell
I'm sure they'll find appalling
The pall of rancour that I spread

My dear beauties, come to me
Where's the Red? You clamour
Red's too refined for this;
Though you may endeavour
But this is so much better.

The noise enthralling- do you hear
The tolling of the bell? How it's calling
Through the cawing, the Red and
The Green and the Blue, oh do you hear
The tolling of the bell?

Deidre's Song - The Ashwinder

In the wake of laughing flame
Winding through the ash
Embers watched him as he came
And then took out the trash

She knew only swathes of fire
Something tinny in her ears
Scented tears of hurt and pain
Saw him laugh and feed their fears

She lay on timber, gave a sigh
Watched the boy with shaded eyes
Let them take the boy away
And teach him all for naught was wise

Deidre's Song - The Raven

The raven spoke of clouds of ash
(Fire and brimstone, ashes and bone)
A sky forever blackened
(Left to burn, nothing left to burn)
The pyre lit by countless worlds
(Nothing left but him alone)
The clock resets without us knowing
(Shattered that which keeps on going)

Deidre's Song - The Stag

Canter through the curtained woods
With antlers proudly swaying
The dappled stag its name denied
I bring the truth but truth divides

I've seen the box that once was closed
I know where leads all ley lines
I've felt the breath of spirit's wind
And heard the spider pull its strings

I saw my son pacing his cage
I saw my friends betray me
I saw my wife curse from above
The web he built without us knowing

Deidre's Song - The Sparrow

If only men could never cry
(A drop in the sea forms nary a ripple)
Cried the hunted sparrow
(A droplet of rain leaves almost a mark)
As the raven swoops below
(A stream joins a river that carves through the mountains)
Safe within a hundred eaves
(A dam brings the valley to its knees)

Deidre's Song - The Serpent

The serpent hides among the leaves
Catching stars from heaven
Cradled close to a gentle mind
Come children hide where light is fading

My dearest fled from whence you came
I know how it betrays you
I gathered him into my heart
Before his curse could blind him

He held the world within his hands
And so they sought to bind him
Until he stumbled on the lie
By which he lived and was to die

Deidre's Song - The Wizard

The wizard said the day will sow
(Held tight to a staff of oak and yew)
The land of broken wreaths
(Called forth souls on the mend)
Brought fire blossomed in their hearts
(Ashes and embers in the cleft of a hill)
And fed the drying wing
(Where nested the phoenix that burned with the land)

Deidre's Song - The Lion

The lion walks the circle wide
Drawing life from aeons
Pulls taut the lines of fate's design
Come crawling spider I am waiting

I crossed the river and the sky
And found the willow weeping
To plant a seed of my design
See spider I am also weaving

I may not spin gossamer threads
Which once you wove around my limbs
But with my life and with my blood
I'll claw my way out from your scheming

Glory

Brought upon a hill of glory

The bones of which still grow

Still holding blade that still is gory

Now only stillness knows

Valor

Lighted sky
Streaked with heart
Of valor's cry
Pierced the dark
Of lament's high
In the halls of mourning

Journey

Now drops the salient shadow
On the way to home
You walk the brick road;
See the meadow
Breathe the dust of ancient tome

The fog it follows
Like a canine, it
Dogs your footsteps
Swallows your sorrow
Fills in the gaps in time for the morrow

The air stabs sharply
Comes out in a gust
Your feet crunch the gravel
Flattens grass as you travel
Heart fit to burst with all that you must

To hurry on track
You bite your tongue
But still stop to marvel
At the folly of the young
And in the darkness of the dark you trust

When you trip over roots
While blinded by light
Startled by eager bark
Some times the day is bright
But at least the night is always dark

Water

Clear and gleaming
The droplets gather
As if dreaming
Light as feather

A trickle, a puddle
A lake, a sea
A starting line
Of life to be

Currents stream
Fishes jump
Raindrops fall
On greenest thumb

Water flowing
In cavern found
As if glowing
Of secrets bound
