Journey

Now drops the salient shadow
On the way to home
You walk the brick road;
See the meadow
Breathe the dust of ancient tome

The fog it follows
Like a canine, it
Dogs your footsteps
Swallows your sorrow
Fills in the gaps in time for the morrow

The air stabs sharply
Comes out in a gust
Your feet crunch the gravel
Flattens grass as you travel
Heart fit to burst with all that you must

To hurry on track
You bite your tongue
But still stop to marvel
At the folly of the young
And in the darkness of the dark you trust

When you trip over roots
While blinded by light
Startled by eager bark
Some times the day is bright
But at least the night is always dark

Water

Clear and gleaming
The droplets gather
As if dreaming
Light as feather

A trickle, a puddle
A lake, a sea
A starting line
Of life to be

Currents stream
Fishes jump
Raindrops fall
On greenest thumb

Water flowing
In cavern found
As if glowing
Of secrets bound
